Groups missing in Process Controller for DR

      Applies To

      Product(s): MicroStation
      Version(s): 08.11.XX.XXX
      Environment:  N\A
      Area:  Visualization
      Subarea:  Distributed
Original Author: Joshua Kulp, Bentley Technical Support Group

    Problem

    1. Run Process Controller for Distributed Rendering
    2. Open the Scheduler dialog
    3. Click the Update Configuration icon
    4. Groups are not populated from the shared directory

Another potential problem is a machine not joining in the distributed rendering job. If this occurs and groups are being used, check the configuration settings to see if groups are seen.

    Solution

    Delete settings.xml for process controller

Browsing to and reselecting the shared directory may resolve the issue, if not, the settings.xml file that stores the shared directory and group information must be deleted. This will cause the scheduler to prompt for the shared directory information the next time the controller is started.

On a Windows XP machine the settings.xml should be in the following directory:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\DistributedProcessing

On a Windows Vista or 7 machine the settings.xml should be in the following directory:
    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\DistributedProcessing
