Copied Excel ole object wrong size. When copying and pasting from Excel to MicroStation the data is not coming in proportionally. Setting the column width to a value of 1 and then doing an Edit > paste. Go back into Excel and change the column width to a value of 2 in excel. No change in excel and the columns look the same. Then in MicroStation when doing and Edit>paste again and this time the object is no longer proportional.
OLE object in this case the Excel spreadsheet size will dictated by the size area selected. This will also affect the size of the text which will be proportional to size of the area. A scale factor can be applied when using by size method. Using this scale factor can get the text to the desired size.1. Copy Excel to clipboard2. Go Edit>Paste or Paste Special3. Select desired format for spreadsheet to appear in MicroStation i.e.linked, embedded, picture, etc.4. Select "By Size" method in the Paste OLE Object tool settings5. Apply scale factor6. Paste the objectThe object may need to be placed multiple times to get the desired size of text using different scale values.
