    Replacing reference remain levels

      Applies To

      Product(s): MicroStation
      Version(s): 08.05.01.25
      Environment:  N\A
      Area:  Levels
      Subarea:  Level Display

    Problem

Replacing a reference file with a new reference file will not keep the
same level view display when the active file is opened.

    Solution

When a reference file is swapped out or replaced, there is no guarantee that the level display for the reference file in the active file will remain the same.
However there are two different workarounds.

    Workaround 1:
Store the reference file that has been updated in a different file folder or location. Go to File > Reference, double click on the reference and then browse to the new file while in the active file.
This will keep the correct level display.

    Workaround 2:
Open the original reference file , reference in the updated file and then delete the original elements and then merge the new reference file into the original reference file to update the geometry.
