Problem

How to save design file changes automatically?
How to save settings automatically?

Solution

To Enable these in Preferences:

In V8i (Select Series):
1. Go to Workspace > Preferences.
2. Go to the Operation section.
3. Toggle on Save Settings on Exit
4. Toggle on Automatically Save Design Changes

In CONNECT Edition:
1. Go to File > Settings > User > Preferences.
2. Go to the Operation section.
3. Toggle on Save Settings on Exit
4. Toggle on Auto-save Design Changes

Note: In instances where working on files across a network drive it might be advisable to turn off the "Auto-save Design Changes". This will force MicroStation to save the file only when exit of the file. Please note this does not prevent manually saving the file at any time manually.
