How to place something drawn in 3D onto a drawing (sheet) and just show the solid part without wireframe

Background

When drawing an object in a 3D model, it may be desired to show as more of a solid view in a drawing (a sheet model) without the wireframe showing.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Draw the object in a 3D Design Model
  2. Attach this as a reference to a 2D Sheet Model
  3. To display the attachment as a solid (no Wireframe), apply one of the Shaded Display Styles such as Illustration or Smooth
  4. To do this, use the 'Set Reference Presentation' tool with the Reference selected/highlighted in the References dialog
  5. From the Reference Presentation dialog, choose one of the shaded Display Styles, e.g. Illustration and click on OK
  6. See a short video showing this...
