This article describes how to get access to the improved "Dimension Styles" dialog of "V8 XM Edition" or "V8i Edition" version in V8 2004 Edition.

Background

Since version "V8 XM Edition" the Dimension Styles dialog box had been reorganized

The reorganized dialog box provides a tree view of all dimension styles, plus groups of settings for geometry, units, text, and symbology. On the Advanced tab you can compare two dimension styles and review their differences. You can also compare a dimension style in the open DGN file with its DGN library version.
Furthermore, you can activate the preview of the currently activated dimension style and
you now have the option of selecting, editing and / or deleting multiple dimension styles at once.

Steps to Accomplish

Enter following key-in via menu option: "Utilities" > "Key-in": MDL LOAD DIMSTYLE;DIALOG DIMSTYLE OPEN
