This tip allows you to create a “live debug” dump of a custom workspace. This is good to do when you need a quick and reliable way of comparing MicroStation workspaces based on two different:
users
design file
workspaces
applications, etc.
To create a "live" MicroStation workspace configuration dump file, keyin: mdl load calculat;calc mdlSystem_createCfgVarDump(); $ % notepad $(MS_TMP)summary.cfg
The output file name and location cannot be modified and will be placed in a location similar to this one:
%temp%\Bentley\MicroStation\8.11\_dMmaOKrOBZUzT62asU91Q\summary.cfg
Make sure to provide both a good and bad workspace summary report noting which one is good and which is bad
Try to make the number of differences be minimal; by providing a good and bad report using the same design file, workspace, applications, etc. This will provide the quickest and most accurate results causing a difference.
