      Area: Graphics Display
      Subarea: Display Rules

    Background

Can we apply Display Rules  on reference files attached on Default models, Sheet models , Design model and Drawing model? Yes, We can

    Steps to Accomplish

For files attached on the Default Model:

The presentation mode on the references dialog is set as Display Style: from parent, so when applying a different Display Rules Set to our Default Model the file referenced in it will also get the same Display Rules Set automatically.

For files attached on the Sheet model:  The presentation mode on the references dialog is set as Display Style: Sheet Model (where this is greyed out). This is because Sheet Models have no Display Style. In order to get an specific Display Rules Set we need to open the reference dialog and change presentation mode from parent to the Display Rules Set required.

Otherwise the recommendation is create a Saved View and apply it as  are Reference in the Sheet model

For files attached on the Design Model: The presentation mode on the references dialog is set as Display Style: wireframe by default, in this case we can change Display Style directly from the Design Model by going to View attributes and changing to Display Style required or by modifying this from the reference dialog using the  presentation mode.

Otherwise the recommendation is create a Saved View and apply it as  are Reference in the Design model

For files attached on the Drawing Model: The presentation mode on the references dialog is set as Display Style: Wireframe by default in this case we can change Display Style directly from the Drawing Model by going to View attributes and changing to Display Style required or by modifying this from the reference dialog using the  presentation mode

Otherwise the recommendation is create a Saved View and apply it as  are Reference in the Drawing model
