Can we apply Display Rules on clip volumes (forward, back, cut, outside)?
Yes, We can. This is helpful to filter elements on the cut plane from the Forward/Back or Outside graphics
Background
Clip Volumes: A Clip Volume is used to limit the displayed volume for a view to the region within a clipping element. This is useful for working within a limited volume of a model without being hindered by geometry outside the region of interest. When a clip volume is applied to a view, only elements that are located within the clip volume will display, or can be snapped to, in that view. Each view may have a different clip volume applied.
Display Rules: New enhancement made to Display Styles to allow users establishing a set of display criteria for his design to be documented.
In this example we have a 3D file with some elements (solids) and we are going to create a Clip Volume and apply some Display rules Set in the cut.
Instructions:
2. Section clip volume
3. Fitted section parallel to the Front plane in this case
4. Select a view
5. Open view attributes
From Clip volume setting display just what you need, cut in my case and then select Open Display Styles dialog
7. When the Display styles Dialog open you can see that Cut Display Style is already selected
8. Now we need to select the Display Rules Set and apply it to the cut ( in this case the Display rules is already created if not create a new Display Rules Set and apply the conditions and desired actions)
