How to place multiple points along a path where the path intersects with other surfaces. Having obtained the points their coordinates can be exported to a text file using the XYZ Export Coordinates tool.

Background

Note a prerequisite is that the graphics needs to be in a 3D file.

Steps to Accomplish

 

  1. Set the required level / symbology for the required Points
  2. Select the elements for which intersection points are required along the path.
  3. From the 'Surface Modelling' task select the 'Compute Intersection' tool and except the selected elements ( data point in view ) and then select and except ( data point in view ) the path element
