Can I import a model created with context capture (*.3mx format) inside MicroStation? It is possible in MicroStation CONNECT Edition only, not in previous versions.
To reference original 3mx format: The workflow is the same as referencing any other supported file format, only choose from available format 3mx. The referenced data are displayed as read-only in full detail in MicroStation.
To attach 3mx data to DGN file directly: It can be done using key-in and it's equivalent to referencing 3mx data and merging the reference into DGN model. If attached directly, you can drop the Acute3D mesh into normal MicroStation mesh and to modify it using MicroStation tools.
Note: For more information, check Acute3D Files Support chapter in Home > Setting Up the Environment > Using DWG and Other File Formats > Exchanging Data Using Other File Formats in MicroStation help.
Note: Acute3D models consist of many files that are accessed as needed during the display process. The Scene file with extension 3mxcontains the information about the model. Including its geographic location (if available) and how to access the model components. The model components are contained in separate files with extension mx3b. You can directly open or reference Acute3D models by selecting the Scene file. The model components (.mx3b) are read internally and must be accessible.
