User gets an error message “No surface detected” when importing a LandXML file
For a test always try opening the XML file in Internet Explorer or any web browser. If the XML file loads OK, then there are no syntax issues.
In this case there were some special characters in the Project Name.
Removing the special characters, import loads successfully.
