Background

It can be handy to customize the functions keys F1 to F12 to open the tools or perform actions you use the most, this speeds up your productivity considerably.

Steps to Accomplish

As an example we will program the F7 function key to open the Measure Distance Perpendicular tool.

First find the Key-in used to open your favorite tools and verify it is an accepted command.
Go to File > Settings > User > Function Keys and change the Function Key to F7. Copy/paste the desired command into the "Action" box as shown:
Press save and thereafter be sure to Save Settings (CTRL+f).
