Problem Description

I have downloaded the "HP Universal Printing PCL 5" printer driver from the HP website and created printers on two different machines. One is a Windows Server 2012 R2, shared that printer and also a local printer on a Windows 10 machine.

When I try to print from MicroStation or Bluebeam I cannot see either the 11x17/Tabloid forms in either application. Windows applications like "Notepad" don't have a problem.

Steps to Resolve

Install the PCL 5 driver for the device in question.

Do the following to install the driver:
On a Windows Server 2012, run "Print Management", expand Print Server, under your print server click on "Drivers", right click on your mouse and select "Add Driver...", click on Next, select x64 and click on Next. Click on "Windows Update". Might take a few minutes. Select the Manufacturer of your device on the left column, under "Printers" column select the model of your printer and
the PCL 5 driver. Click Next and then finish.

The driver should be installed on your system, you can proceed to create printer using this newly installed driver.

On a Windows 10, go to "Devices and Printers", select any printer and in your pulldown menus select "Print server properties". Select the "Drivers" tab, click on "Add...", click Next, select x64 and click on Next. Click on "Windows Update". Might take a few minutes. Select the Manufacturer of your device on the left column, under "Printers" column select the model of your printer and the PCL 5 driver. Click Next and then finish.

The driver should be installed on your system, you can proceed to create printer using this newly installed driver.
