How to detach a Pen Table from the Print Dialog

      Product(s): MicroStation
      Version(s): 08.11.09.459
      Environment: N\A
      Area: Printing
      Subarea: Pen Table

How to detach a pentable from the print dialog in order to produce a one off plot without using the loaded pentable.

    Background

A Pen Table can be loaded in the Print Dialog in a number of ways depending on your organisations configuration.

Manually loaded via the Print Dialog

Defined in the plot configuration file ( *.pltcfg ) such that when loaded it also defines the pentable to use

Defined as the default Pen Table using the variable MS_PLOTDLG_DEF_PENTABLE

In some instances it may be necessary to produce a one off printed output without any resymbolization through the use of the loaded Pen Table, in which case it needs to be unloaded as described below.

In the event that a more permenant solution is required, then the Site Administrator should be advised where they may wish to modify or create a new plot configuration file  or adjust the MS_PLOTDLG_DEF_PENTABLE variable.

    Steps to Accomplish

Option 1 Using the Print Dialog

    1. Open the Print Dialog
    2. Select the menu item Resymbolization > Detach Pen Table

    Option 2 Using a Keyin

    1. Open the Keyin Browser
    2. Enter the Keyin : PRINT PENTABLE DETACH
