Windows updates, also called as Windows KB are updates provided by Microsoft for different reasons such as security, bug fixes, or even new features. MicroStation requires some of the KBs installed on your machine for proper functioning of the product. Following Windows KBs should be installed on your machine prior to installing MicroStation.

Note: In some cases, to install KB2919355, you will have to first install KB2919442.
* The changes in KB4340917 are built into the August 2018 monthly update of Windows 10 OS.
To check your Windows OS version, run the command "winver" in the Command Prompt. The About Windows page will display the version, as shown below.
If the Install Updates Automatically feature of Windows is on, then these updates will be installed automatically. Otherwise, click the links on the KB numbers in the above table to visit the Microsoft page and download and install the respective KBs.
