How to place multiple cells of trees over a surface area to visualize a planted area
Tip: Holding the CTRL key down and pick another cell allows you to select multiple cells. Additional cells can be added by selecting the ‘Add File’ tool again, these can also come from other Cell Libraries)
Note: Defined Content Sets can be stored in a DGNLIB file and thus making them available to all users via your configuration. Consult your Site Administrator if required.
Content: drop down select the created Content Set ( Trees ) that you wish to place.
Item: Optional – Use the drop down to select a specific cell from the Content Set.
( ‘Random’ will use all the cells defined in the Content Set )
Alignment: Optional – If set to Vertical, the items are aligned with the Z-axis. If set to Surface Normal, the items are oriented based on the surface normal at the point where it makes contact with the surface.
From the Populate Content Tool Settings dialog select the 'Populate Single' tool
Select the Tool Setting 'Paint Surface'
Enter a value for the Spacing between the Cells when populated
Place a Datapoint ( Left Mouse Button ) over the surface in the Plan View to start placing the cells, keep the mouse button pressed and move the cursor over the area to be populated
