Problem

I am using an HP Designjet 500 24 by HP printer for my plotting while using MicroStation CONNECT.
When I attempt to print from MicroStation CONNECT (File>Print) and change the print driver configuration file to "Windows printer", the following message appears:

The Message Center also outputs similarly to the following:

Solution

The issue is most likely caused by a printer driver that is no longer fully compatible with Windows 10.
For workarounds, an up-to-date plotter would need to be purchased.
Alternatively, you can print to PDF and then print the resultant plot directly from your PDF viewer.

Using printer.pltcfg, is there a way to define the printer using the local printer name rather than using a UNC path to the printer?
