Scalable Mesh is not displayed in the View

      Product(s): MicroStation
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Environment: N\A
      Area: Mesh
      Subarea: N\A

    Problem

Having opened a file containing a Reality Mesh, all I see is in the View is a boundary box showing its location.

    Solution

The issue in this instance is the path of the Reality Mesh (*.3sm) file had been changed, thus MicroStation was unable to locate to display the Reality Mesh. The same would be true if the file was renamed.

    1. Open the Reality Mesh Dialog. (Drawing > Home > Attach > Reality Mesh)
    2. In the Reality Mesh Attachments dialog locate the missing attachment (Note it will be shown in red text)
    3. Using the left mouse button, double click on the missing mesh to open the 'Edit URL or filename dialog
    4. Select the folder icon and browse to and select the moved Reality Mesh file
    5. Select OK

    Alternatively

    1. Open the Properties dialog (Drawing > Home > Primary > Properties)
    2. Open the Reality Mesh Dialog. (Drawing > Home > Attach > Reality Mesh)
    3. In the Reality Mesh Attachments dialog locate and select the the missing attachment (Note it will be shown in red text)
    4. In the Properties Dialog Expand the 'Reality Mesh' section
    5. Select the Path/File in the File Name Field and select the ... (3 dots icon) to open the 'Select Reality Mesh File' dialog
    6. Browse to and select the moved Reality Mesh file and select Open

    Alternatively

Move the Reality Mesh file back to its original location as shown in the Reality Mesh Attachments dialogs File Name field.
