How to Delete a WorkSpace

 Product:MicroStation
 Version:CONNECT, 2023
 Environment:N/A
 Area:Configuration
 Subarea:WorkSpaces

Problem

How can a created WorkSpace or WorkSet be deleted and removed from MicroStation?

Background

When a new WorkSpace or WorkSet is created in MicroStation, a folder and a corresponding .cfg file with the same name will be created.
For example, if you were to create a WorkSpace named Test, a folder named Test and a .cfg file named Test.cfg would be created in the WorkSpaces directory.

Solution

To delete the WorkSpace or WorkSet, close MicroStation completely and then delete both the folder and the .cfg file from the file directory.

Below are the default WorkSpaces directories, but keep in mind, these paths can change depending on how you have set up MicroStation's configuration.

MS CONNECT
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces

MS 2023
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation 2023\Configuration\WorkSpaces

WorkSets are typically inside WorkSpaces, so the location of the WorkSet folder and .cfg file will vary and usually depend on the location of the WorkSpaces.
For example, the MetroStation WorkSet is contained within the delivered Example WorkSpace

MS CONNECT
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Example\WorkSets

MS 2023
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation 2023\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Example\WorkSets

Once the WorkSpace or WorkSet folder and .cfg file are deleted, open MicroStation again. The WorkSpace or WorkSet should now be removed from MicroStation.
