Problem Description

When generating PDF files using PDF.pltcfg from the Print dialog, the extension of the output file is no longer PDF.

If using ProjectWise this can result in the file being associated with the wrong application as seen here with the output extension being DGN

Steps to Resolve

The default extension DGN in this instance is being controlled by a setting stored within the selected customized PDF.pltcfg print configuration file

Note, Please consult your Site Administrator before making changes, or alternatively copy and edit the existing *.pltcfg file

1. From the Print Dialog with the customized PDF.pltcfg selected

2. Select File > Edit Printer Driver Configuration

3. Select the Base Properties Tab if not already selected and expand the 'Default Print File Name' Section

4. Change the Extension field from DGN to PDF

5. Select File > Save

6. From the Print dialog select File > Reload Print Driver Configuration to read the changes made

7. Select 'Print to File' to verify change.
