Hi there,
Anyone had any experiences working with CUBE models and Git? The way CUBE scripts are managed and updated within CUBE (i.e. performing things within the GUI, like adding inputs/outputs to programs, updates the script automatically) means that that side of things is difficult to work with if your codebase is on a repo. But I can see it working for all other script edits.
Anyone want to share their thoughts?
How are .cat files and .app files handled in git I wonder, as these contain a lot of the metadata and if these are not in step with updates, then i can see it being a problem.
The file paths in application files and script files are not relative and any changes to the model location might affect version tracking. One suggestion is to always pull and commit to the same location.
As for .cat files, these are binary files and version control is not very useful for us.
We are working on providing better support for version control in the future versions of the software such as relative paths and open formats.

Good to hear. I'll post any feedback I have from trying to work with Git and Cube here for reference.
