Compatibility of Cube 6.5 and ArcGIS Map 10.8

Before 6.5 came out, I was aware of the compatibility issue and downgraded my ArcMap to 10.5.

According to this wiki, the issue has been resolved in 6.5 version, so I upgraded my ArcGIS Map into 10.8 lately.

Now it doesn't have the error I had before which kept me from opening anything. I am able to open geodatabase and edit the link and node layers, but when I try to open "Advanced Properties" from Properties window, I get an Unspecified Error. I tested the same gdb in another machine which still uses ArcGIS Map 10.5, the unspecific error didn't occur. Are there still some compatibility issues between CUBE 6.5 and newer version of ArcGIS Map?

Below shows the parameters of my CUBE

  •  The 'Advanced Properties' is available only if you have a full ArcGIS Desktop license. Try opening ArcMap and see if you can open it. This will confirm if you have a ArcGIS Desktop license. If you are able to open ArcMap, make sure the ArcGIS license checkout order in CUBE looks like below. You can get to this dialog from File >> Options >>NET/GIS >> ArcGIS License..

  • I am able to open ArcMap Desktop app without problem and I can access the properties window from there.

Below are the screenshot of ArcGIS Administrator and the ArcGIS license detail in CUBE.

Could you tell if this is a full ArcGIS Desktop License?

The ArcGIS License Option (shown below) was set based on the machine that doesn't have problem accessing "Advanced Properties". Therefore, I 'd assume the problem was not the settings here.

I do notice that between two machines, there are difference in license setting in ArcGIS Administrator. The machine that works doesn't have the "Engine" group after the "Desktop" Group shown in Figure 1. This could be because when the CUBE was installed at first, there is no ArcGIS desktop in the machine. I installed the desktop later, but I am not sure if this could be the issue because everything in CUBE was set the same between two machines.

I think both setting in ArcGIS Administrator are legit when in ArcMap desktop app, but somehow the setting shown in Figure 1 doesn't work in CUBE.

Please let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know in order to diagnose the problem.

  • For the machine which has the issue, could you update the license check out order as I suggested? Also, the case where the Advanced Properties work, what version of ArcGIS you have installed?

  • Sorry I misread your request previously and said it didn't work (I have deleted the reply). It actually works after I set the ArcGIS License Option in CUBE exactly the same as you suggested in your first response.

    Thanks,
