I have this travel demand model input network which is organized as a geodatabase (*.gdb) other than .NET. I suppose there is some special setting with this gdb and therefore when I open it in ArcMap, it is read-only and when I tried to add it into ArcGIS pro, it couldn't be loaded with error message: Failed to Instantiate workplace extension COM component. [Citilabs Workspace Extension,....]. I also noticed that if the machine does not have CUBE installed, this gdb won't even open from ArcMap.
My questions are:
- Is it the Citilab Workspace Extension that makes this geodatabase read-only in ArcMap and it can't even be opened if CUBE is not installed?
- I saw someone said in old Citilab community forum that Citilab was working on its compatibility with ArcGIS pro. Is that still going on or there has already a way to add the required Workspace Extension in ArcGIS pro. I think it will be really helpful if user can open the gdb processed by CUBE from ArcGIS pro
Thanks,
Hello.
Referring to your first question, if CUBE is not installed in the machine where ArcGIS is installed, please download the following plugin: https://communities.bentley.com/products/mobility-simulation-analytics/m/cube-files/275170/download (Sugar compatibility plugin for ArcGIS).
Referring to your second question, using CUBE GDBs is currently not supported in ArcGIS pro. We are looking into the future options for CUBE networks to be compatible with ArcGIS Pro but for the moment we recommend using ArcMap (and the tool provided above).

Thanks, that plug-in resolves some of my coworker's issues. Is the CUBE gdb only support read-only level of operation in ArcMap and I have to do all the edit inside the ArcGIS imbedded in CUBE?
Without CUBE Network Editor (formerly Sugar Network Editor) it is not possible to edit CUBE GDB networks in ArcMap, but they will be "read-only" outside of CUBE.
