How to create Bandwidth maps

This post summarizes how to create bandwidth maps from a CUBE loaded network. To create a bandwidth map, do the following:

Step 1: Open the output loaded network (.net) file from your HIGHWAY program

Step 2: Click on Analysis and Click Multi-Bandwidth

Step 3: Under Attributes, select the respective network attribute for which the bandwidth map needs to be done. Typically, you need the V_1 which is total volume of the PCUs on a given link and Vx_1 gives you the respective vehicle volumes (without the PCU) for each user-class. VC_1 gives the volume to capacity ration and CPSD_1 gives the congested speeds.

Step 4: Select Dynamic Color and click the Color button.

Step 5: Change the color range or the value range and click 'Apply Color Range' or 'Apply Value Range' accordingly.

Step 6: Click OK and click OK again. You will see the bandwidth map appearing.

Step 7: If you need to change the thickness of the bandwidth, go back to Multi-Bandwidth and change the value/pixel value.
