How to Create Node / Point Charts

Product(s):Cube
Version(s):6.1 to 6.5
Area:CUBE Base

It is possible to display the node attributes in both the Network and GIS Windows by way of a chart. With the GIS Window, you can display node charts by: pie, stacked bar, and side-by-side bar. With the Network Window, you can display the same charts as the GIS Window with the addition of a donut chart and link a matrix. The last option allows the ability to display table-specific attributes, e.g. homebound-work, homebound-school trips, etc.

Solution

1. Bring in your network and, optionally, load a trips matrix. For the first part of this example, we are using the Network Window so the network format would be a .NET file.

2. Click on the Analysis tab > Link a Matrix

3. Load your matrix if you have one in this window and click Close.

4. Click on the Analysis tab > Node / Point Chart...

5. Here, we already have a template set up for trip purposes. The pie chart was selected from Chart Type. The Fix Color option with custom colors were selected and a name was given for the chart settings. For additional information on the Node Chart Settings, consult Cube Help > Network Window > Advanced display configuration > Node or point chart display for the Network Window. As for the GIS Window, see Cube Help > GIS Window > Common map tasks > Transportation analysis > Node charts.

6. When finished, click OK to close the Node Chart Settings window and OK once more to close the confirmation window.

7. Charts are provided for each transportation analysis zone based on the information provided by the linked matrix file.
