How to use a polygon to extract subarea networks in CUBE GIS

To extract a subarea network in the CUBE GIS interface, you can use an existing polygon layer (e.g., a polygon feature class in your GDB). To do so, please follow the steps below:

1. Open your CUBE roadway network

2. Open your polygon feature class

3. Within the TOC, select the HW network node layer

4. Under the CUBE ribbon (Home > Links), open the Select drop-down and click on Select by Location...

5. Set the selection options to select the desired nodes belonging to the subarea network to be extracted (example below)

6. Once the nodes are selected, click on Subarea Network Extraction... under the CUBE ribbon (Home tab > Map Data)

7. Select where to save the subarea network (e.g., as a new dataset in your GDB)

8. Define the subarea extraction node renumbering rules under the below interface and click OK once done

9. Your subarea network will be extracted as desired
