Introducing SACS 11.0 CONNECT Edition

The latest SACS 11.0 CONNECT release includes the following major enhancements:

SACS Precede Decommissioning Tools allows the user to automatically cut the structure at any elevation with weight control for removal purposes.

The SACS Joint Mesh GUI allows the user to effortlessly add stiffing plates to complex non-tubular joints for finite element analysis meshing purposes with full user control for mesh density, meshable member lengths and element type.

SACS-AutoPIPE interop workflow - Added ability to import piping geometry, support information, and support reactions from AutoPIPE. Also added the ability visually connect the piping supports to the structure in Precede and export these connections and the SACS model to AutoPIPE where a combined structure/piping analysis can be performed allowing for the flexibility of the pipe support structure.

Collapse View has integrated with Precede for improved visualization with full 3D rendering and enhanced plot capabilities.


The Interactive Fatigue module reviewing and post processing fatigue results has been consolidated with Precede for improved functionality and visualization. The interactive graphical module allows the user to select critical joints and modify their properties such as geometry, S-N, SCF…etc. designations and instantaneously review the new fatigue life.

SACS CONNECT Release 11.0 now allows the user the ability to design rectangular hollow section joints in accordance to the CIDECT Design Guide for Rectangular Hollow Section (RHS) Joints code of practice.

The SACS 11.0 CONNECT Release now contains a non-integrated interface to NREL’s aeroelastic program FAST V8 to enable a fully coupled design for offshore wind turbine platforms.

The new SACS release now allows for a full second order P-Delta iterative solution enabling engineers to design in accordance to the AISC Direct approach methodology.


Other enhancements include the application of wind volumes in accordance to the API 4F standard. Also, the SACS Joint Can program now writes directly to the Postvue database allowing the joint settings to be included automatically.
