Enhancements to SACS Decommissioning tools
The SACS decommissioning tool has been enhanced to calculate the sum of forces and center of forces enclosed in a volume. The volume is user selectable by using the three axes sliders or typing the volume extents.
Using the load by volume tool described above, the selected volume can be used to “cut” a model and create a view or sub-model of the structure.
The sectioned view can be saved as self-contained model file.
New enhanced view management in Precede
Precede now has an improve user interface to manage saved views. Now saved views are displayed on a tree control on the left side of the Precede window.
PSI can now apply torsion on each pile segment based on t-z curve data.
This feature adds the nonlinear torsion analysis of the piles in PSI using T-Z curves. Previously, PSI was able to do linear Torsion analysis (not considering effect of soil) or Torsion Adhesion. With this feature, program generates Table Ranges and does full Torsion Analysis using T-Z curves that have been input in soil Axial properties. M - Theta curves will be generated based on following calculation:
Rotation (Theta) would be equal to Z/r (r: radius of the pile) and Torsion Moment (M) on each segment would be equal to 2*pi*(r^2)*T*L (L: pile segment length).
Tow Fatigue Analysis Added to the SACS Executive as an Analysis Sub-Type
This new analysis sub-type for tow fatigue prompts the user for a tow input file.
Added support for intra-operable Launch in MOSES using the SACS Launch file and a SACS jacket model.
This is a full “round-trip” capability to do MOSES Launch of a SACS jacket model without leaving the SACS executive. See sample 22.
Joint Mesher Enhancements
Added the ability to create a hard edge between two hard points. Plate edges between the hard points will be forced to align to the hard edge.
Joint Mesh Program will now create a report in the list file with the list of joints that have been created for each hardedge.
Joint Mesh Program will offset user defined plate surfaces based on chord surface locations.
Added more wind spectrum type to SPCWIN card to the Dynamic Response program similar to WINSPC card in Extreme Wind.
Added more wind spectrums for extreme wind analysis.
Added support for ISM 6.0
SACS now can read and write ISM 6.0 file format.
Hello Vagish,
Please post your question on the respective forum (see Forum button at the top of this community) and reference this article if needed. That way, your question will get attention.
"PSI can now apply torsion on each pile segment based on t-z curve data".
This means we do not need any "SOIL TORSION HEAD" chord to be specified in the PSI input file? Can some one light-on this new tool.
Thanks in advance
