Offsets in SACS

Just wondering about offsets:

1. Is there an option available within SACS which automatically sets horizontal beams offset to face of the columns similar to setting to top of the steel.

2. What are the implications for horizontal offsets? Does SACS calculate the eccentric moments thus involved?

1. Every offset option is available in SACS, if you want to do automatically, SACS does it for tubular members only if you go to Joint tab and then Automatic Design, your tubular members will be offset automatically.

2. Yes it does.

Hi Nail, could you elaborate further on member offset in eccentric moments? Do you mean to say that member offset provide lever arm to cause eccentric moments? This applies to vertical offsets as well, right?
