Dear Sir,
Is SACS able to calculate "Reduction factor" for root stress of single-sided welded in tubular joints as per Table D-6 of DNVGL-RP-0005?
If it is cannot. Please help to suggest how to tackle the stress at root. I planned to use EFR option which is based on HSE OTO 1999-022. Is it conservative?
Btw, if it is still not implemented. Please kindly put in your plan of future development.
Regards,
Kasiphon
Kasiphon,
The DNV reduction factors for single sided welds were added to SACS 10.0. Use 'ERD' in columns 78-80 on the FTOPT line to select this option. See the SACS 10.0 Connect Edition Release Notes for more information.
Geoff
Geoff, Is SACS10 already official release? Or it is only temporary version before official release? Btw, when the new version (ver.5.8) will be released. I am currently using ver.5.7 at the moment. Regards, Kasiphon
SACS 10.0 has been officially released, as well as the 10.1 patch. There is no 5.8 release as 10.0 was the next major release after 5.7 to reflect the transition to the Connect edition. You can download the new versions through the Software Downloads portal at https://connect.bentley.com/.
