FRP materials

Dear

Now, I doing my thematic: 'Using Maxsurf Structure to design the fish-ship in FRP material'. But I do not understand the definition of FRP sections. How could I know the thickness of FRP or core form? Does anyone have suggestion? Please help me!

.

Thank a lot

  • The 'Datasheet' table in MAXSURF Structure is a good place to check or edit the assigned materials and thicknesses from "Windows menu > Datasheet > Frames or Plates, etc.."
  • thanks. But it not work. I still get struck in that. Do you have any definition about FRP materials?
  • MAXSURF Structure doesn’t display thickness for frame/deck/plate in rendered or gdi mode. MAXSURF Structure is currently orientated more towards metal fabrication, but by using the new “Offset surfaces” command in MAXSURF Modeler, this can assist with modelling the internal skin of a foam-cored model. Thick transverse frames can be modelled by two adjacent frames – will look at the feasibility of adding frame thickness.

Inner skin modelled as “Offset surface”; pairs of frames used to model foam-core transverse stiffeners

For those who wish to build a female mould, you can generate you mould transverse stiffeners as “frames” by adding a box-like surface outside the hull:

Box enclosing hull in MAXSURF Modeler

Mould with external transverse stiffeners “Frames” in MAXSURF Structure
