I was doing some comparison between SACS Connect 10.2 and the previous version we have been using (SACS 5.7) and noticed an option under the MISC tab for defining sets composed of members, plates, and joints. For what purpose and how do you use this feature? Is it similar to STAAD's option to define a plan level of beams as a "GROUP" for area loading? This is a feature which would be very valuable if it were transported from STAAD to SACS.
Bruce,
Sets are a new feature that is currently in development, the button you see in the Misc tab is actually an early technology preview. The goal for sets is to be able to group elements (joints, beams, and plates) for the purposes of viewing, selecting and reporting. We should have the set feature operational for viewing and selecting in the next major release. We do not currently have plans to use sets for loading although there will be additional features considered in the future as the feature is developed further.

Geoff
