Hi guys,
i'm getting started with SACS. I have to model a 4 legs jacket for wind turbine application.
I modelled in Precede (not using structure definition wizard) 4 legs above mudline, so i have 4 joints called 101L, 102L, 103L, 104L at base of the jacket. These joints are restrained with "pilehd" condition.
Now i want to attach 4 piles below the mudline connecting them to 4 legs by these 4 joints. I think i have to do this preparing a psi input file and then performing a static analysis with PSI.
Please, note that i haven't pile inside leg, i only want to have a connection between pile and leg at mudline.
In psiinp file i defined pile head joints (101L, 102L, etc.) and i assigned the correct properties.
When i perform analysis (with sacinp, seainp, psiinp files) i get these errors:
** ERROR - PILE DESCRIPTION AT LINE NO. 348 JOINT NUMBER 101L HAS ILLEGAL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
** ERROR - PILE DESCRIPTION AT LINE NO. 348 NAMES PILE GROUP LABEL,PL1 ,NOT FOUND IN GROUP LIST
** ERROR - PILE DESCRIPTION AT LINE NO. 348 JOINT NUMBER 102L HAS ILLEGAL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
** ERROR - PILE DESCRIPTION AT LINE NO. 348 JOINT NUMBER 103L HAS ILLEGAL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
** ERROR - PILE DESCRIPTION AT LINE NO. 348 JOINT NUMBER 104L HAS ILLEGAL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
*** ERROR - NUMBER OF INPUT PILES 4 IS INCONSISTENT WITH SACS STRUCTURAL DESCRIPTION,NO.PILES = 0
How can i solve these issues? I hope you can help me!
Thank you guys!
Enrico,
It is difficult to pin point the reason for this error without looking at your input file and model. However from the information you provided, it seems you didn't define PL1 in pile group list. I would suggest you to refer SACS sample models with pile in this folder to get an idea about how piles are defined in SACS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering\SACS 10 CONNECT Edition\Samples\Sample 03 and Sample 04. Also you can find more files in this folder as well: C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering\SACS 10 CONNECT Edition\Demos.
