Can anyone explain to me how to calculate the minimum air-gap needed for a catamaran vessel. I am working on a catamaran vessel that will be classed for unrestricted service. I have developed the model in Moses and now I want to calculate the minimum air-gap needed so that the waves do not hit the deck.
Please explain how to estimate the air-gap from Moses hydrodynamic analysis.

Hi, The st_clearance command will give you what you need. Note that only the motions of the vessel and incident waves are taken into account. I.e. the waves generated by the motions/presence of vessel, which in many cases are important for the problem, are neglected. Regards, Lars Rune
