Hi,
Is it possible to use a third party software like gmsh for meshing a vessel hulll and convert it to Moses format for using in generating hydrodynamic database..As i understand we have only one or two options to control the mesh quality in moses like -m_dist. I understand moses do meshing automatically.

Hi
I want mesh for my model that is a Spar and a barge. How can I do it? Is there any code for it?
Hi Mojtaba,
Evaluation of the mesh appropriateness to the project is an engineering decision. MOSES is a tool to create the mesh. What mesh to use for the project is your decision.

Hi Georgina
You are right .Then how can I simulate large cylinder with mesh and truss to make a perfect model for truss spar?
Can you give me a sample to know which codes I should use to simulate? and how put all the corresponding code in place to run without error? Because I simulate my modell but I can't mesh it and I don't know how I can mesh the truss spar.
thanks alot for helping
At the beginning of this tread I suggested three files in the vessel model directory. One of the files suggested had a filename "spar". Have you looked at it? You cannot figure out how to generate a mesh from that file?
You have not indicated what analysis you will be running. You have just said you want to run without error. It is difficult for me to answer your questions with such little information. What are you trying to simulate?
Yes I saw it and I wanted to combine his file with the codes that I can make truss spar but my model had problem. No unfortunately I can't generate a mesh for my modell. I want to simulate dynamic analysis of launching of the truss spar. I can send you my simulate that you completely understand what I mean.
thanks alot
Hello Mojtaba,
Again, you give me very little information to work with.
You are reporting the model had a problem. Can you elaborate? What was the error message? Did the computer crash? Can you provide a screen shot.
This thread is getting long. Please provide more descriptive information so that there can be progress in your analysis. Even if you provide your files, you need to provide descriptive information.
You can send the files via the Service Request system. You need to be a registered user on Bentley.com. Do you have Connection Client running on your machine?
