Dynamic Super Element Analysis

Dear SACS users,

I have been trying to perform dynamic super element analysis to set up a load iteration process with the turbine manufacturer.

I tried to follow the steps menioned in the help file of DSE analysis as much as possible.

I made a simple model of 3 legged jacket with a wind turbine tower. The idea was to extract the dynamic super element at the interface of the jacket & turbine tower.

Step 1: Modal Analysis

The Dynamic Super element data file (dsetrs.*), which is an output of modal analysis is used as an input for wave response to generate reduced forces. However if I run the wave response together with dsetrs.* , I get an error : as shown below:

Step 2: Wave response :

basically the wvrlst.response stops at a point where the programstarts reading wvrinp. files.

Has anyone faced this issue before ? I somehow feel that I am unable to generate the dsetrs.modal file accurately which leads to this problem.

Thanks

  • Amit,

It seems odd that the dynamic superelement data file would be the issue since you are able to run Dynpac without any error. The problem may be with your wave response input.

For some reason I can't see the images that you posted so I can't tell what error you are getting. If you could try reposting the images and/or describing the error I might be able to help you a bit more.

Alternatively, you can submit a service request ticket via https://connect.bentley.com/ and a Bentley technical support representative can take a closer look at your model. If you submit a service ticket, be sure to attach your input files and run files so that we can reproduce the problem.

    Regards,

    Geoff
