I have conducted a launch analysis with MOSES. then I use the command LWFORCE to explore the reaction force during the launch.
I found that the pin force is not equal to 0 when event =0. Actually it is a big number. But obviously the jacket is not on the rocker when launch just begins.
MAY YOU HELP ME TO FIGURE OUT WHY THAT HAPPENS?
Hi, Georgina
Thanks for your reply!
It is clear now.

Ju Peng
Thank you for your patience. I understand what you at saying.
The confusion is with the column labels. The column labeled "Pin" really means the force at the beginning of the launch leg or at the pin.
For event 0 as you are showing the force is at the beginning of the launch leg. For events where the distance from pin to the end of the launch leg are less than the length of the launch leg it is the force at the pin. My above sentence was long and basically it is an if statement.
The same would apply for a jacket that overhangs the bow. At event 0 the force is at the bow not at the trailing end.
Let me know if you need more.
Thank you for your rely ! As you mentioned above, I used the install.cif to run the launch analysis. The results about skidway reaction force are as follows:
Numbers in the blue crcle means pin force when the event =0 . But as we know, when the launch begins, the jacket is on the launchway and not reach the rocker.like that:
So, that' my question : why does the pin have a force when the jacket doesn't touch the rocker?
THANKS AGAIN!
Hi Ju Peng,
You give very little information. I cannot provide a direct response to your question.
I used the example files to try to recreate your problem. I used in the install.cif file in the following directory.
C:\Program Files\Bentley\Engineering\MOSES CONNECT Edition V10.10\hdesk\runs\samples\install
I ran it with only launch active. After the initial analysis I restarted MOSES. I issued the following commands:
prcpost
lwforce
report
end
The resulting Skidway Reaction report was the same as that in the original out0001.txt file.
I was not able to recreate your problem. Please provide files or provide more information.
Thank you,
