Question about J-Tube

Hi
My name is Ockto
I'm newbie in SACS.
Now, i'm doing my task about roll up part of jacket.
I also model J-Tube with joint naming is JC_ _ and JD _ _

When i run, i got error in matrix decomposition, which is part of my J-Tube model.

Anyone can help me to solve this problem?
I am very grateful for your help

  • You have a lot of members that are not actually connected to other members. Keep in mind that members connect to end joints, but they don't connect if the member passes through the joint. See in the image below how I've selected a member that passes through 2 joints. You can also see this by turning on the group labeling (Display > Group Labeling) and note that there is no group label between the outer two sets of joints. This indicates that the member passes through the joints. You can solve this problem by dividing the member at each joint (Member > Divide > Existing Joint). Once you have fixed all of these issues, you should see that the structure is stable and if it isn't reevaluate the model.

In the future, you should always check the joint and the surrounding joints when you get a decomposition error. Usually you will find unconnected members, member releases or joint fixities which cause the instability.
