hello I am a student and I use maxsurf in my graduation project, my question is why in maxsurf structure when I want to add longitudinals stiffeners I must apply it to a surface which is defined in maxsurf modeler while I cannot apply it to decks that are defined in maxsurf structure ??
This is correct. Longitudinal Stiffeners are a property of surfaces, they can't be applied to decks / bulkheads etc.
Decks are flat structures so creating stiffeners in a CAD package such as microstation is not difficult.
One work around that some users use is to create the decks as surfaces instead of decks. You can then apply stiffeners to them.
