Hello
Is there a limitation to the number of nodes allowed in the ASSEMBLY LLEG command? We have a highly discretised launch rail (1m node spacing) and if we reference more than 53 nodes (per rail) we have an error:
*** PROGRAM ERROR: Record Number Specified is Out of mem_range. Could this be the number of nodes? We have tried referencing from both ends, both times limited to 53 nodes
Regards
John Davis
Hi John,
The limitation on number of nodes is 50. I do appreciate you using MOSES for these structures that test the edge cases.
I would like to recommend to the developers that the limit be increased. I would like to base my recommendation on your project. Can you tell me more about your project?
Thank you,
Georgina Maldonado
Thanks a lot Georgina for the quick response and offer to consider an increase in node capacity
We have a deep water launch jacket in early stages of launch truss design. Centre of gravity envelope is still large as mudmat design is ongoing. We have discretised the launch leg which is approx. 150m long, into 1m node spacing. This is so that we can position the rocker arm precisely in the structural analysis. We can probably increase the node spacing in the non-critical parts, but we would like to maintain the 1m spacing for the majority of the launch leg. So we are looking at 100 to 150 nodes per leg
If you were to talk to the developers please could you advise the time to make such a change, as it may be quicker for us to work with multiple models with the leg discretised to 50 nodes at various stages of launch...if that makes sense!
Kind Regards
JD
The number of nodes allowed on a launch leg assembly has been increased to 250. Please download the latest MOSES version 11.01. Let me know if you have any questions.

That’s great timing Georgina we will try it on our discretised model. Thanks for pushing this through development.
