Which would be the best method to compute the Dynamic Amplification Factor (DAF) for dynamically sensitive jackets (water depth > 200m)
Method 1: Using equivalent static loads in wave response input file, without using any wave spectrum (PM / JONSWAP) and computing the DAF as a ratio of Dynamic to Static Shear from the following output:
Method 2: Using Transfer Functions and corresponding wave spectrum (PM / JONSWAP) and computing the DAF as a ratio of Dynamic to Static RMS Shear from the following output:

In section 2.4 of the Wave Response manual we provide a recommended methodology for determining the dynamic amplification factor using a deterministic wave, which is method 1 in your question. Note that the dynamic and static shear maxima may occur at different phases.
