Hi,
I have confusion regarding how to model barge if barge partially grounded.
In this case, barge moored near shore. During low tide, partial part of barge grounded. Since the another part of barge still in water we can expect environmental load (from wave and current) still affect the barge.
How to model for this particular condition? and from there start doing the mooring analysis.
Here attached the sketch of that condition.
Thanks

Nafuat, you can almost accomplish anything with MOSES software that happens in the real world. In your case basically some portion of your barge is resting on the seabed. You can basically model spring elements at the barge resting points and give it high stiffness (ground) in vertical direction. Have a look at MOSES GSPR elements. You will need compression only GSPR in this case since the force between barge and seabed is only during the contact. That is what you need. I hope it helps. -Rahul

Hi Nufuat,
Thank you for trying MOSES.
You can add the spring there as Rahul said above or you can model a physical boundary representing seabed using "gspr" element. You can also apply the contact stiffness and the friction to that boundary.

Thanks Rahul and Bit-na, yes understood will use the gspr for this case.
