I have to model a barge in MOSES
I have been given the general drawings of a 90 m long Barge (tank capacity, deck and profile) and stability booklet.
The aim is to create the barge .dat file in MOSES and use it for transport analysis after loading the barge with structures.
I have MOSES advanced software license.
How should I proceed?

Thank you for your question.
Is the barge a standard looking shoebox with a rake at the bow? Or does it have more shape? There are many barges in the vessel library. Please see the following directory in the standard MOSES installation.
C:\Program Files\Bentley\Engineering\MOSES CONNECT Edition V11\hdesk\tools\vessels\cbarges
I would first check to see if your barge is close to one of the barges in the library. It would be easier to change an existing model, in comparison to starting a model from scratch.
Once you have your barge you can check the tank capacities and curves of form.
To do a transportation analysis I would use the automated tools. Please see section XV. Automatic Offshore Installation in the MOSES reference manual.

Dear Madam, I will come back on install.cif and install.dat, I couldn't understand them. I guess these two are for finer hull models and putting other details. For the current work, I am trying to fill in offset table data into planes, and I am mostly using rect ztop zbottom beam.

Attached is hstatic.zip. This contains a set of files to check hydrostatics. When you finish with the model definition you need to check hydrostatics. Please review the attached files as an example. The files show how to report curves of form and tank capacity tables. You should be able to change the barge in the attached to the barge that you are modeling.Give this a try. When you are ready to ask about install.cif and install.dat, I am here.
