When we run RAO spectral fatigue we have warning message like below. What is the cause and consequence of this warning?
We didn't have this warning before when we had 16 headings (22.5 deg increment) in RAO and 16 wave scatters in ftginp.
Scatters in 7 particular headings have almost no energy then we deleted the wave scatter inputs for these 7 headings in the ftginp file and comment out the RAO inputs for those headings as well. Then the new run has 9 (=16-7) heading in both RAO and wave scatter inputs. Then this warning message appears.
The results still look as we expected. But to be sure we need to understand this warning. Appreciated if anyone have similar problem can share the experiences.
The total life ratio is the sum of the occurrence data for each fatigue environment. When you deleted the 7 headings, you will need to normalize the remaining headings so that the fractions of design life add up to 1.0.
