I use SACS v14 and I would like to verify the deck of a vessel with the SACS Plate Panel Check. I would like to consider the code ABS Buckling Guide mainly, but I am insterested also in the other two available API Bulletin 2V and DNV-RP-C201.
The deck is an large horizontal plate with a series of stiffeners of different shape and size. I imagine that the "Plate Panel Check" considers the Effective Width of the portion of deck on top each stiffener.
My question is if there is a tutorial and/or examples to how correcly model the deck of the ship. Do the stiffeners have to be introduced in the definition of Plate Group or shall I draw the stiffeners as members and connect each joint with a plate element?
Thank you in advance for your support.
Regards,
Hi Fabio,
Unfortunately we do not provide this check for more than two different stiffeners sections.
Also, you may find more related information in SACS iV Manual - Section 2.2.12
Please let me know if i can help with anything else.
