HI,I would like to know if I can import a few trimmed surfaces from another Maxsurf model. I tried with importing design but the trimmed surfaces get vanished and I require to do the rework. I would be glad to know if there is a way to solve the problem.Thank you.
The best way would be to import the surfaces, and the surfaces that are trimming them. That way all of your trimming will remain dynamic and move with changes in the model.
If you were after a work around, you could export the surfaces as a MicroStation file and then import the Microstation file into your new model.
When you import the microstation file, it will give you an option to recreate the trimming.
Because MicroStation uses static trimming, the export-import file will use trim curves for static trimming. You can see the trim curves by turning on Display | Contours | Trimming Curves. If you need to remove any of the trim curves, you can select them and press delete.
