Dear MOSES Team,

I am having difficulties understanding whether my submerged stinger model (converted SACS) as part of the body on the stern barge as the main body has been considered in the evaluation of current force coefficients for mooring analysis of pipelay barge purpose.

Please advise how am I supposed to specify the -CS-CURRENT 1 1 1 for the stinger model as it doesn’t work with this command since the model isn’t based on pgen command but converted SACS model.

Or is it automatically already considered the current coefficient is 1 for the stinger model?

Thanks and regards.

  • Hi Mustofa,

I believe you are asking how the current force on tubulars is accounted for when there is velocity and acceleration.

You can turn off the added mass and damping calculations for tubulars with &default.  The options are -use and -nuse.  The option -nuse is short for "not use".

You can put #amass or #drag and others to turn on / off the added mass and damping calculations of structural, tubular, elements.

    I hope this helps.
