Hello everyone,
I'm trying to create the structural elements of a boat with the Maxsurf Modeler. Frames, decks and plates are added but I can not add stringers correctly.
I want to add it on a straight line, but it is added on plates.
Below is what Maxsurf created (white lines);
Below is where I want to add stringers (pink lines);
How can I add longitudinal elements as I want?Best Regard.
Hi Mehmet,
There are quite a few different ways to generate stringers. Which one have you used here?
Those pink lines look like you want to use the Stringers | Add Stringer on Contour command. Select a Waterline (or multiple Waterlines) first so it knows which contours you are adding them on.

Hi James,
I used Stringer - Generate Stringers then select surface, but this is not I want.
After your response, I tried Stringer - Add Stringer on Contour then select waterlines but I think stringers were not added. Because, Window - Part Tables - Stringers is empty.
Did you select a waterline contour?
Can you try adding stringers to the Design Quickstart hard chined hull model and see if that works? That will tell me if its model specific or not.
Are you able to post your model up?
Regards,
Yes I selected waterline contour.
I will try adding stringers to the Design Quickstart hard chined hull model then I will inform you.
My model up? What does it mean?
Mehmet.
I was able to add stringers, but some were added in the wrong direction.
What should I do to fix this?
Best Regards.
Is this Screenshot from Rhino? Are the stringer incorrect in MAXSURF also?
If all the stringers on a surface are incorrect, it is probably caused by the outside direction of the surface being the wrong way around (use Display | Outside Arrows to see).
If it is just individual stingers, then check that their orientation is correct using the parts table.
I solve it with Display | Outside Arrows.
Thank you, if any more question, I will ask.
