How can I adapt the SB Analysis to my hull geometry? (in Maxsurf resistance)

Hi my name is Marc,

I'm working on an hidrodinamic study of my boat and i can't adapt the Analysis mesh of Maxsurf Resistance to my hull. I can't upload the file so i put a download link (https://drive.google.com/file/d/10NjVFoSuiNjiCJZLQBIP_AL3zuOqjh9U/view?usp=sharing). If someone can help me let me know.

Also the Slender body method doesn't work.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Marc

  • Hello Marc,

for symmetrical surfaces, its expected that they are modelled on the stbd side - with generally +ve control point values for the y-value (offset)

Flip your model in Modeler about the transverse CL axis (y=0) and it should be OK - when  the model has a transom, a wedge is automatically added behind the vessel since this was found to give better estimates of wave pattern resistance.

    thanks,

    Pat
